Hello, I’m Harry.
I’ve taken my first steps as a barista with Qlab. Although I’ve only recently started working as a barista, I’m already enjoying wonderful times with our members and guests here.
I want to help you fully enjoy our coffee and space when you visit Q.lab. In the future, I’d like to discuss various topics with you. While these topics may seem basic and unembellished, I hope that through these small conversations, we can grow together and enjoy coffee even more.
Today’s post is a simple introduction. Most of you already know that most coffee drinks are based on espresso. We use five different house blend beans when brewing our espresso, each carefully researched and roasted by our roasters in a perfect environment to ensure the best flavor. You can choose from these five beans to order your drink. The beans range from light roast to medium-dark roast, classified into five stages.
- Ethiopia + Colombia Blend: This is the lightest roast among our five beans, offering the most acidity. If you prefer a coffee that is not heavy, but bright, lively, and slightly tangy, this is the choice for you. It features tasting notes of red apple, apricot, nut butter, cloves, and brownie. We will discuss these tasting notes in more detail in a future post.
- Kingpin Espresso (Brazil + Papua New Guinea Blend): This light-medium roast bean is bright yet slightly more nuanced. If you enjoy a smooth, mellow flavor in your flat white or latte, I personally recommend this bean. It has tasting notes of milk chocolate, blueberry, and brown spices.
- Artisano Espresso (Brazil + Colombia Blend): This blend balances acidity with a smoky flavor. If you don’t have a specific preference and enjoy a harmonious, well-rounded coffee with a bit of body, this bean is a good choice. It has tasting notes of naturally sweet raspberry and milk chocolate.
- Caremello (Guatemala + Brazil + Peru Blend): If you prefer a heavy, bold, and dark flavor, this is the bean for you. It is the darkest roasted bean among our espresso options. It features hints of macadamia nut complemented with a touch of caramel.
- Humble Coffee’s Daily Blend (Guatemala + Brazil + Peru Blend): This bean is a bold and rich option, similar to Caremello but with its own unique characteristics. This blend is sourced from our esteemed partner, Humble Coffee. It will add an extra element of fun to your bean selection.
We’ve briefly reviewed the five beans we use. When you enter our café, you’ll notice our five grinders more prominently. You can also refer to the bean sticker cards on each grinder or check the packaging displayed nearby to revisit the details about each bean.
Even though this information may seem simple, I hope it enhances your coffee journey. We are always striving to provide you with the best possible coffee experience.
Thank you.
